What does “Competitive Mean”?
It means that our pay scale seeks to start team members at or above the industry standard for similar jobs but provide the ability to quickly grow your income to earn more than most of our competitors.
However, in order to be able to afford to be competive with pay rates it is important that our employees are more productive than others and are truly meeting the business needs.
Your pay rate reflects the “Value” you create for the guests and the business.
If you are performing with excellence, more guest will come and we will be able to serve them more profitably. By doing that you will literally “pay for your own raise”!
Competative Compensation

How do I earn a raise?
Earn is the correct word! You earn a raise by creating value for the guests and the business. Generally speaking team members have the ability to influence their pay rate in 3 specific areas.
Availability | Knowledge/Skills | Performance
Base Rate + Availabily Premium + Certifications + Performance = Rate
$12.5 + $0 - $3 + $0-$1.5 + $0-1 = $12.5 - $18
(Team Member Level)
Availability
This just refers to your time and schedule commitment to the restaurant. We know that you may not be able to control this 100%. However you can influence it to a large degree in many circumstances.
Making yourself available to work when there is the most business need and not just when it is convenient to do so creates a lot of value.
What we are looking for is the overlap of your genuine ability to be present at work with our need to have team members at the restaurant at specific times.
We have laid out several different options of availability that reflect what our needs are for staffing the restaurant. The greater availablity you can reliably commit to, the higher your compensation can be.
Please know that full time commitments are generally expected to be 6-12 month commitments.
Knowlege + Skills
Knowledge = Your demonstrated understanding and awareness of Pathway and Restaurant Systems, proper procedures, and standards of quality of our products and service. You demonstrate this by completing assigned pathway modules, passing knowledge tests, etc.
Skils = Your demonstrated ability to execute proper procedures and standards of quality and service in the restaurant. This includes not just performing tasks like bagging a chicken sandwich, but executing a position effectively operating the primary station during peak and slow times correctly. You demonstrate this by executing tasks and running stations successfully with qualified leader present who can assess and sign off your demonstrated skill.
Performance
Performance = Your consistency in executing the standard with excellence. It is one thing to know how to do something correctly but another thing entirely to do it with well consistently.
We need to be consistently executing with excellence to win the hearts of our guests every day. Team members who are consistenly meeting or exceeding the standard should be the ones paid the most!
Consistency of performance will be assessed by your managers and supervisors.
They will assess your performance in a position or role by asking the question:
“Out of 10 times performing this position/task, how many times did they meet the pathway standard 100%?”
1-3 = Rarely | 4-6 = Sometimes | 7-8 = Usually | 9-10 = Almost always
Excellence = Meeting or Exceeding the Standard.
How consistent are we?
